We are delighted to welcome Dr. Kateryna Khvostenko, recipient of the prestigious MSCA4Ukraine-2025 fellowship, to the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV)

Hosted by Prof. Ana Andrés from the FoodUPV research institute, Dr. Khvostenko will be developing the project “Shifting Towards sustainable plant-based THICKeners: characterisation and application – ToTHICK” during 01/05/2025-30/04/2027, a cutting-edge research initiative focused on the development of alternative plant-based thickeners. These ingredients will be obtained through sustainable processing methods and combined with strategies that promote the valorisation of food processing by-products, emphasising their nutritional potential.
The outcomes of this project will contribute to the advancement of sustainable food ingredient production, fully aligned with the zero-waste concept. We are proud to have you on board, Kateryna – welcome to the team!
